Collection of ephemera, blueprints, patents, company correspondence, photographs, periodicals, and newspaper articles of the Dobbins Instrument Company. Dobbins Instrument Company manufactured telescopes and telescope accessories for amateurs, and colleges and universities. Dobbins Instrument Company was established by Thomas J. Dobbins and Thomas A. Dobbins in Lyndhurst, Ohio on November 20, 1979 until the 1990s. Company was renamed A.R.O. Instrument Company in 1992 and lasted until 1997. Thomas A. Dobbins is an astronomer and a solar system observer and the author of astronomical and solar system books and articles. He was commissioned by Antonio Minorace Martinez, a wealthy amateur astronomer, to build a telescope with stargazing capabilities. Thomas A.
